There are two things that signal that summer is here in The Close.
Firstly there is the wonderful sound of children playing outside and secondly, the jingle jangle sing song of the ice cream van as it drives through and parks near the green, waiting for us all to rush out and buy one.
Today it felt a little like summer may be on the way …. our windows were open and I could hear children laughing and playing, I love that. The ice cream van came and went and I enjoyed a pot of tea in my lovely garden, so tenderly tended to by my Mr Daisy.
We work very well together in the garden, Mr Daisy and I. He is brilliant at all the hard work, planting and maintenance (it is his job after all) and I fill the garden with ‘things’ as he calls them … bird cages, dangly jangly things, chickens on sticks, garden fairies (a mothers day gift from my boys about 15 years ago), bundles of old rusty keys, large terracotta pots to fill with pretty blossom and of course some weatherproof hearts.
Its quite easy to spot the back gate …..
So here’s to a few more sunny afternoons in The Daisy Garden. Have a wonderfully bright and cheerful week, Daisy Cupcakes x
