We are home …. back in Warwick …. after two blissful weeks of peace, tranquility and happy times.
Scilly is my spiritual home.
Our journey began at 3pm yesterday, when we travelled on the whizzy jet boat from St Martins to St Marys
and then climbed aboard The Scillonian for the two and a half hour trip across the bit of Atlantic ocean that separates Scilly from mainland Cornwall.
Alternatively, you can travel to Scilly by helicopter from Penzance or small aeroplane from Lands End.
Docking at Penzance at 7pm on Saturday evening is when reality rears its head … all of a sudden there is traffic and noise and lots and lots of people. Scilly is so quiet and unspoilt.
We collect our car and begin the long journey up the A30 and M5, recalling lovely days and already planning our next trip. This is the time we plan our move to Scilly … every intricate detail of our dreams … we do it every year … maybe one year it will happen.
And at about midnight, we arrive in Warwick … sleepy, always tanned and windswept, refreshed and so very happy.
The days are being counted till our next trip in September.
Lots of baking to do tomorrow! Hope you all have a happy week, Daisy Cupcakes x

Ahhh Alison, I really feel for you. Coming back to the mainland from the Isle of Wight last year felt like that for us too. Your photos are just gorgeous and you’ve made us want to visit the place more than ever. If Scilly is your spiritual home, you should move there no question… whatever your ties… do it, life is short. Friends will always be friends, and you can resolve to visit home often. Friends and family will love having a holiday destination to head for. Do it Alison, do it. x
Thanks Caroline – thats kind of you to comment – its getting some serious consideration at the moment!
